10/6/09 Morning Update

Family and friends,

Debbie is asking that there be NO VISITORS THIS WEEK. His levels of energy are crucial for his rehab and recovery and with visitors he feels that he needs to entertain. Please refrain from driving over to see him as it will be disappointing to you.
Please pray specifically today for my dad as he is having a little difficulty with the secretion levels of his lungs & fluid build up. He has to learn how to cough & clear his lungs again. Pray also that he gets some rest; as he has not been... able to sleep much since "waking up" yesterday. They have done a bronchoscopy this morning and the doctors said that everything looked good and they were not concerned with the mucus that dad seems to be bothered by. They are wanting to get him up in the chair quite a bit today and are going to start him on pureed foods for diet.

Please CALL ME from any update info ANYTIME! (Steve@ 305-987-7716)
We do want you to know that we appreciate each and every one of you that has prayed for, called, paged and written to us in any venue. Thank YOU!!!

We LOVE Each and Everyone of you and want you to know that!

Job 33:4,

Christy

So wonderful to hear they're going to have him up in the chair today. That is great news. We are praying continuously for Rick, and for your family, during this recovery process.

I certainly can appreciate his need to rest and recuperate, but it was good to see him doing so well yesterday. Thank you for your continued updates. It helps us to know how to pray on a given day.

Thank you for taking the time and making the effort to post these updates. Rick has touched so many people and it gives each of us comfort to know the progress of his recovery. While I was eating breakfast this morning at Sterling Country Kitchen, I overheard three men in the next booth start talking about the latest report on a friend of theirs was that he was able to give two thumbs up. They discussed that the doctors were initially concerned about the non-responsiveness of the friend’s left side and how he had been sent on a Cruise on the Arctic Sun. It was as though I was listening to a reading of your posts. As I left I asked them to continue praying for Rick Hornsby. They too were amazed that we had this wonderful man in common. Thank you for sharing him with us and for sharing this medical answer to prayer.
