Just wanted to send an update on both Lisa (Duke Medical Center) and
Paul (Mayo Clinic). Both families resided in South Florida prior to
their diseases progressing and requiring transplant and both received
the gift of a double lung transplant this past week.
Lisa (surgery on Tuesday) is no longer in ICU and even walked laps in
the hospital last night and went 1 mile total, bearing in mind with many
medical devices attached and only 4 days after surgery. Her husband
Rick keeps me updated and the reports are all very positive.
Paul (surgery on Thursday) is out of ICU already as well and we just
spent about 10 minutes together on the phone. He said he feels like
something is missing as he moves around and realizes its that oxygen
tank and tubes he had for so long. Paul too is doing great and it was
good to hear his voice without any coughing and struggle to breath. He
said he is enjoying doing his NASCAR walking laps on the Transplant
wing.
Both families are obviously grateful for the gift of life they have
received and for the encouragement of prayers from so many. Thank you
for the role that you have played in these Miracles. Please pray as well
for the loss of life for the families of the donors. God Bless each of
you and your families.

we have said many prayers remembering Paul Sheridan! and my husband, Rick, and I have asked many people to pray for him also. praise the Lord this is an answer to prayer! we have thought and spoke about the Hornsby family for a while and we look forward to meeting you! At a tme when I began to feel overwhelmed,( as I have IPF), with many decisions to make lately, this is a joyous reminder that our God is in control!
