In regards to prayer request

From my Uncle Steve at the Mayo Clinic:

2:00PM UPDATE Operation Breath of Life
ICU 4th Floor Room 417

The doctors discussed with Debbie and I the situation regarding Rick's
lack of motor controls on his left side. During the surgery, the blood pressure
may have fallen to levels below what would be nominal. When the body was
warm again; the brain senses that the cells in certain parts of the body may have
lacked the correct blood pressure. There was no sign of any blood clot, or trauma that
could cause this problem. The solution for now is that they have increased the
sedation to Rick's body; and will apply a full layer of 'ice' through a cooling
system that will remain in effect for 24 hrs. At the end of the 24 hrs, the doctors
will gradually warm the entire body at the same time. This they are saying will
allow the return of blood flow evenly to all parts of the body at the same time.
They are confident that this solution will correct the problem.

I apologize if this seems confusing; as I never even made it to any front door
of any med school. Just ask God (as you have been) for His healing hand to
help Rick through this speed bump in the healing process. Closing with more
positive information: Dr. Keller is very happy with the way Rick's new lungs
are operating. His entire system is very strong, and vital signs are great. There is
a great team of doctors and nurses helping Rick along through this process;
with God in Complete control of everything that is going on.
We will not know any more details until sometime tomorrow afternoon after 1:00P.
